Thanks to Star for the bio info: Star & Buc Wild began as writers as Source Magazine in 1995, based in part on the success of the magazine that they launched in 1993, Around The Way. The duo stayed at Source through 1998, when they launched a public access TV show in New York City. The pair caught the attention of MTV, who gave them a daily show that ran from 1999-2000.
They made the move into radio on Emmis' Hot 97 (WQHT) in 2000. In 2003, Emmis and the show parted ways, at which point the program moved to Clear Channel. While Star & Buc Wild sat out a non-compete with Emmis, they worked first in Hartford (on Power 104.1 -- the same signal that once hosted Bubba The Love Sponge in mornings when it was modern rock WMRQ) and then in Philadelphia on Power 99.
On May 10, 2006, Clear Channel/Premiere fired Star for comments he allegedly made on his show regarding another radio personality in the market. Star told me personally that he (not CC or Premiere) owns the rights to his show, but for now the program is on hiatus. A note on the Star & Buc Wild website says that the show will relaunch in 2007.
